KIDZBLAST
KidzBlast is a unique alert notification system that allows parents to respond to a missing child in a measured way. As you build your child's profile and add contacts, you will indicate each contact as Level 1, Level 2 or both. The moment you realize your child is missing, you can notify family, neighbors and friends by using this email and text blast system.

Level one response
When your child is overdue, more than a little late getting home, it's time to get in touch with your first level responders. The Email blast will go to your neighbors and parents of your children's friends that you have selected to be level one contacts so they can "be on the lookout for" your child.

Level two response
If you determine that your child is missing, CALL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT IMMEDIATELY! After you call law enforcement, use the KidzBlast link to activate a Level 2 Alert. All of the contacts you designated as Level 2 contacts will receive a cell text message and email letting them know your child is missing. You can include local media outlets as contacts for your Level 2 Alerts if you so desire. We suggest that if you are adding a local media outlet to your contact list for Level 2 Alerts that you contact them BEFORE you add them to your contact list. You will want to make sure that they provide you with an email address that is checked often. If you get the approval and email address from a local media outlet, please let us know so we can add them to our list of participating media.

If you have selected this option when setting up a child's profile, your child's basic descriptive information will be public on the home page of MissingChildFoundation.com, including their photo. Getting information out to as many people as possible is vital when your child is missing. Missing Child Foundation also includes a feature which can generate a printable missing child poster with your child's description and picture. The flyer can be sent via email to media outlets and printed and distributed throughout your community.

When a crisis occurs, you need to be prepared. The first three hours are the most critical when a child is missing. But typically, it takes over two hours for parents to collect all the information law enforcement needs to initiate an effective search, while approximately 74% of children that are abducted and murdered are deceased within three hours of the abduction. Missing Child Foundation allows parents to thoughtfully collect the right information about their children before and emergency situation occurs. Missing Child Foundation's program is not a replacement for the efforts of law enforcement, and it can be a significant tool to assist law enforcement in finding your child.

Building your child's profile takes time. We recommend taking a few minutes each day to get the profile built, and then a few minutes each month to update it with changes and updated photos. One idea is to build the profile while you watch your favorite television show, or sports game on TV. A half hour show usually has about 12 minutes of commercials. Take these few minutes to work on your child's profile.
